To better seal the building envelope of our home and reduce our energy consumption, we have been advised following house change. Currently our home has two garage doors(timber diagram 2), that enclose our utility room. These doors cause a huge loss of heat. The bedroom above it loses heat from two uninsulated outside walls and floor making it the coolest room in the house. We wish to seal this part and convert the garage doors to a window, diagram 3. We believe this will better seal the heat within our home and reduce our enery consumption especially with a double or triple glazed window. The use of this room will still remain our utility room
