The development is located within the site of Ennis Hospital, Gort Road, Ennis, where there are a number of existing protected structures. Some internal refurbishment works and alterations of the existing external wall are proposed at ground floor level to the main hospital building which is a protected structure (RPS 800 Hospital c. 1934-1940). The alterations to the external will consist of blocking or replacing existing windows which are not original and breaking up external envelope to provide the main corridor to the new unit.
